Tandav

Divine art form

Tandava or Tandava nritya the divine art form is a dance performed by lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. According to Hindu mythology Shiva's Tandava is a vigorous dance that is the source of the cycle of
Creation , preservation and dissolution.
Performed in a violent mood the dance is called RAUDRA TANDAVA ,it depicts lord Shiva's violent nature first as the creator and later as the destroyer of the universe.Performed with joy the dance is called ANANDA TANDAVA which depicts him as enjoying his creation -The Universe . In Indian tradition lord Shiva as NATARAJA is the supreme lord of dance.
Thus TANDAVA symbolises the cosmic cycle of creation and destruction , as well as the daily rhythm of birth and death.
This is a small summary of TANDAVA. I hope you like this blog. Please comment and like. Banani Sarkar
