SHANTA RASA
Shanta Rasa ( emotion of emotionlessness) is considered as a ninth rasa in Sanskrit literature. It's Sthayi Bhava is Sama, i.e. state of freedom from everything. It's foundation is patience. Shanta Rasa is expressed by keeping the face in a peaceful expression by half closing eyes. The purpose of recreating this Rasa is to depict detachment from everything. Shanta represents complete harmony between the mind , body and the universe. In music, it is often represented through a slow tempo (speed).
